In the book, The Alchemist, there is a scene that I’ve been thinking a lot about lately…
If you were to ask me today, “Drew, what job do you want in hockey coaching right now?”
I’d tell you I’d like to work at a hockey academy in a developing hockey country/state that can come from behind like Florida, Germany, and Austria are currently doing after investing in the last decade in places like this:
In the book, this is referred to as one’s Personal Legend.
“Everyone, when they are young, knows what their Personal Legend is. At that point in their lives, everything is clear and everything is possible. They are not afraid to dream, and to yearn for everything they would like to see happen to them in their lives.”
What does this have to do with anything?
Consider this a thought experiment…
What if I told you a friend was about to be offered ‘my dream job’? And the people that are offering it to him have no clue I exist…
